There are several colors (for the skin) of maca, it is indeed a single family but different ecotypes: the red and yellow being the most common in the fields, but also a little pink, purple, marbled white and pink, gray, black.

In our maca, it is therefore a mixture of all colors (as in all maca on the market if the color is not specified), about 40% red, 40% yellow, and 20% of other colors.

Maca, a plant from the highlands

Maca (Lepidium meyenni Walp) is a tuber from the Andean highlands (Peru and Bolivia), whose ancestral cultivation dates back to the time of the first Incas. Its high content of proteins, vitamins and minerals has always made it an essential product for an adequate and balanced diet.

It has many properties: proteins (nutritional quality), fibers (intestinal function), fatty acids (fungicide and antiseptic), alkaloids, trace elements (magnesium, potassium, iron, sodium, manganese, copper, tin, aluminum, zinc), vitamins B1, B2, etc.
